Woodies on the Wharf – June in Santa Cruz
Do you remember my trip last year when I went to Woodies on the Wharf in Santa Cruz? It is on a Saturday only. I do recommend this free event – the Woodies are fabulous to see. Please allow time to actually talk with each of the owners of the cars. Their local stories are fun!
If you want to avoid hunting for parking near the wharf, they have a bike concierge set up for your bicycles, it is easy walking or even catch a shuttle to the wharf from downtown Santa Cruz.

Insider information - The best buy for inexpensive good eats:
Save one $5 bill from your shopping and buy one of the best hot dogs in town at Paradise Hot Dogs located right at the beginning of the wharf. It is a fact, hot dogs are always better at the beach. Please note Vince and Marge sold this business in 2016 - I am sure the new owners will be fun.
California Rodeo July in Salinas
When Salinas is mentioned, I immediately think about John Steinbeck and books. Well, there is more in Salinas to do. They have the one of the oldest rodeos and horses too. Don’t forget this fun event, California Rodeo, in July. Be sure to reserve your tickets now.
I like to spend the whole weekend in this area and see the old town of San Juan Bautista, National Steinbeck Center, agriculture tours, (of course) many excellent wineries in Monterey, and drive over to Monterey Bay for a couple of hours. Did I forget anything?
Will I see you at one of these events? Hint, look the person wearing fun colored sunglasses and tap me on the shoulder.
